Dan Ferreira is a steel drummer, percussionist, and drum teacher living in the Fairfield County Area.  He  holds a B.A. from Loyola University (New Orleans) in Music Education and a M.M. in Ethomusicology from Temple University.  He currently runs the music program at St. Joseph High School in Trumbull CT were he directs the Concert Band, Jazz Band, Chorus, and Steel Pan/Percussion ensemble.  Other teaching duties include his private music studio and director of the Jazz ensemble at Neighborhood Studios.  He is also a member of the Percussive Arts Society, MENC, and Society of Ethnomusicologists. 
    
     As a percussionist  Dan Ferreira has played in a wide variety of music ensembles ranging from live hip-hop and funk to gospel, jazz and Caribbean.  In 2004 he founded the music group Moment's Notice where performs on steel drums. The group plays a mix style of bossa nova, Jazz, and Latin standards, performing in music clubs and private events throughout the the tri-state area.
